    Hi Christine.

My return to DF was fine (even if there’s no salty water, no turtles, morenas, and the substitutes for cenotes are tunels).

You know, I have been talking to some friends who also took the advanced course at some point, and by telling them what we did in the course and what I have learn, they tell me it sounds like a dam serious and profound course.

I also really enjoyded everything also Christine…hope to make Angelita, Gran Cenote and Gargante del Diablo together soon.

    Carlos

Remark: Carlos came back and took the PADI AOWD after he became an Open Water Diver with me in December 2006.

… Again, I really enjoyed diving with you guys as I thought, at the time the service was perfect (at least YOU were). I definitely want to dive with you again. For a few reasons, your experise, your knowledge of the caves, and umm, you are SWEET!

    Jason

Remark: We had problems with the videographer that took a video from him when he went with me on an awesome cenote tour. I’ll promise that I will not work with that video-guy again.

  • December 2006

    Hi Christine,

You took myself and Theresa diving around the first part of December in Playa Del Carmen and I wanted to write and say thanks. You were nice and our dive was a good experience. I would have written this sooner but I thought that I had lost your card. Anyway, I hope that everything is going good for you down Mexico way. I am not sure if or when we will be coming back to Playa Del Carmen but if we do we would want to dive with you again. If we come back it will be to Playa Del Carmen and not Cancun like we did. Staying in Cancun required way too much time in bus rides.

Well thanks again and if you change locations let me know.

    Don

Remark: Both went diving in the ocean and the cenotes with me.

    Ciao Christine!!!!!!!!!!!! …
I’ve thinking a lot of you, ‚cause you’re really the best instructor I’ve ever had! I miss you a lot, you’re great!!! Now for me it’s very difficult to deal with other instructors… I had the best and now I’m never happy with my instructors… and I always talk about you with „scuba-friends“! (Could you remember me your website url?)

I went to the Maldives in mid March to see mantas. It was nice but I always wish I were in Mexico. Probably I’ll be back in November! And I do hope you’ll be my instructor again!

Take care, hope to dive with you asap!

    Vanessa

Remark: She did the PADI PPB, Cavern Diver, Drift Diver with me and became later a Full Cave Diver and PADI OWSI.

Christine, just a quick note to say thanks so much once again for a wonderful experience in Playa personally, and professionally.
Dan and I had a GREAT time and I could not have enjoyed my learning experience more than I did.
    Thanks again!
    ….

  • The Tarpons are Back

It is a thrilling experience, meeting a school of Tarpons which are one of the biggest fish in the reefs. Last week I was lucky to see a passing school at our divesite Sabalos. Around 20 medium- sized Tarpons of approx. 4- 5 ft length – just crossed our way. Tarpons live in sea as well as in fresh water. Here in the Riviera Maya you find them only in summer when there is not bull shark season that means you do not meet them in winter. The locals here say the reason is because tarpons are the preferred food source for the sharks. I think it is just their migration behaviour. Anyway – I look forward to many dives at Tortugas where my divers meet a huge school of Tarpons and where they will dive into the middle of it and they swim only slowly away. Tarpons hunt at night for fish and squid and during the day you always find them in a quite defined area at the end of Tortuga. If you dive in a relaxed way and are not breathing too much air and you are able to make there a 40 min dive the chances are good! I like it to look in the big astonished eyes of my divers.

  • Going International

Yes, yes, yes! I finally got it going. Not that it is completely up and running, but the first steps have been taken and here it is, the MareNostrum.ws blog in English.

So, there is a lot to tell. Well, first of all, welcome and keep checking my webpage www.MareNostrum.ws, because very soon there will be the important pages also in English.

The news for 2006 were my full cave diver certification and the purchase of the complete full cave diver equipment which allows me now to guide you through the wonderful cenotes here. You have not heard about cenotes? Well, simply check the WWW, there are tons of information to be found there, so I am not going to repeat the common knowledge, but they are beautiful, unique, my favourite and the reason why I continue to stay here. If you require personal information, simply contact me through Christine@Marenostrum.ws and I will give you more detailed information.

Of course, I am still diving the ocean. Last year’s weather has just been excellent, no hurricane landfalls, few days with heavy winds, good visibility. Only lately, the bullsharks had not been seen that often than the other years, but we have loads of turtles, mostly hawksbills, sometimes the green turtle and very rarely also the loggerhead turtle. Even after two years extensive diving here, I still enjoy and am still surprised by the wonders the Caribbean has to offer.

A couple of months ago, I finally moved into my cosy apartment and now have permanent internet access, well, what you can tell permanent here in Mexico. Often the whole net crushes down and I do never know when I will be online again. But normally I can be reached through skype or email and will check both in the evening at about 5:30 pm.

Don’t let me wait too long to go diving with you!
